TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Samantha Burton wanted to leave the hospital. Her doctor strongly disagreed, enough to go to court to keep her there.
She smoked cigarettes during the first six months of her pregnancy and was admitted on a false alarm of premature labor. Her doctor argued she was risking a miscarriage if she didn't quit smoking immediately and stay on bed rest in the hospital, and a judge agreed.
Wow, This is false imprisonment. How the hell does a hospital doctor have time to contact a judge and get a ruling like that? Judges have way to much power these days. And it's really a scary thing. Another thing is, what good is it to have a three judge panel look at something when all three judges are liberal asswipes?
I hope this woman sues that judge and gets him arrested for false imprisonment. The doctor should be charged as well.
