General: Obama records 'critical' to 'our republic'

A retired lieutenant general from the U.S. Air Force who commanded forces armed with nuclear weapons says the disclosure of Barack Obama's documentation proving his eligibility to be commander in chief is critical not just to the defense of an officer challenging the president's status, but to the preservation of the nation itself.

The vehement statements came in an affidavit from retired Lt. Gen. Thomas G. McInerney, a Fox News military analyst, that was disclosed today by an organization generating support for Lt. Col. Terrence Lakin.

Behold the awesome power of the fire tornado

It turns out that "firestorm" isn't just a figure of speech.

In a scene that looks like something straight out of the Book of Revelation, brushfires in Brazil combined with strong wind gusts to spark a tornado of fire. The bizarre weather event trailed flames in its wake as it touched down in the town of Aracatuba and around its surrounding countryside. Aracatuba hasn't seen any rain in three months.

The flames brought traffic to a halt on a nearby road then disappeared. One local citizen caught the fearsome spectacle on camera. You can watch the raw footage by clicking the title headline link above.

3-Year-Old Tased as Deputy Tries to Arrest Man in Florida

FLORIDA-- A 3 year old boy was accidentally shocked Monday after a deputy tried using his taser on a wanted man who was in the vehicle with the boy.

It all happened in the middle of the day with lots of shoppers looking on in downtown Deland.

A Volusia County deputy pulled over a vehicle because the window tint looked too dark.

In the car he found Sylvester Hill, a wanted man. When the deputy realized Hill was wanted on an outstanding warrant for allegedly beating up a pregnant woman, the deputy tried to arrest Hill.

The deputy says Hill got out of the vehicle halfway through the window and had the deputy pinned against the car through the window in a head lock.

The deputy got out his taser and tried to shock Hill. That’s when the deputy says Hill grabbed the taser and, as they fought with it, it went off.

Hill fell to the ground, then took off running. The incident caused most of downtown Deland, including some schools, to be put on lockdown for several hours.

Deputies and Deland police caught up with Hill a few hours later hiding in a home nearby.

The boy was checked out at the scene, and was sent home with his mom, who was driving the vehicle.



Tasers are a great tool for law enforcement. As with anything, accidents happen from time to time. It's typically the idiots getting tased who bring about the harm and problems.

Obama invites confusion about his faith

The recent poll by the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life is generating much discussion over its provocative finding that an increasing number of Americans (nearly one in five) believe that President Obama is a Muslim. The survey was completed before Obama's recent comments endorsing the construction of a mosque near Ground Zero.

While this no doubt is a fascinating development, consuming most media coverage of the poll, and unprecedented in presidential history, the figure of greater interest to me — and not surprising — is the percentage of Americans unsure about whether Obama is a Christian, or, more generally, about his faith at all.

I have some more info on Obama being a muslim in some of my previous posts on this BLOG. I'm not going to say Obama isn't a Christian because only God knows that. But what I can say for sure, is that he is making decisions and taking actions that are contrary to those of a Christian.

He supports murder by means of abortion, sexual sin by way of homosexual life-styles.
These things are against Biblical teachings, so for him to tell everyone he is a Christian seems like an Oxymoron.

Will Huckabee run in 2012?

I think this is a very good sign that governor Mike Huckabee will indeed run for president in 2012. I think he has a very good chance of taking the oval office should he decide to run. Most online polls tend to agree.

Mike Huckabee is a strong leader, who stands on Biblical principles. That's absolutely what America needs at this point. He can and will reverse some of the wicked actions Obama has been inflicting on our nation.

Hostage-taking incident in the Philippines

There was a hostage situation over in the Philippines that turned out bad. My prayers go out for the families of the victims. From what I hear there was a crazy ex-cop who was fired from the police force, he took a bus load of people from Hong Kong hostage. Demanding his job back.

Furloughs back on for Friday (California)

Furloughs for state workers are back on for Friday. The state Supreme Court has just said that it will review a lower court ruling that kept Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger from furloughing roughly 144,000 employees last week as he had planned.

HEREFORD, Arizona -- Tea party activists supporting Arizona's illegal immigration law were rallying along a remote stretch of the Arizona-Mexico border about 70 miles west of Nogales in support of the law that a judge put mostly on hold last month.

California Judge Refuses to Stay Prop 8 Marriage Ruling

Today U.S. District Judge Vaughn Walker refused to stay his ruling in Perry v. Schwarzenegger, in which he struck down Proposition 8, the state marriage amendment defining marriage as the union of one woman and one man in the California Constitution. Without a stay of the August 4 ruling, Prop 8 is enjoined, meaning that people in California will be able to obtain same-sex marriage licenses. Judge Walker's ruling today states that effective August 18 at 5:00 p.m. PT, the state of California is ordered to stop enforcing Prop 8. Same-sex marriages will resume.

It is outrageous that Judge Walker refused to stay his ruling. This is a classic example of radical individualism and judicial activism. Judge Walker obviously has not learned the lesson of 2008, when the California Supreme Court refused to stay its decision on marriage. That decision was reversed in short order, but it caused a huge disruption. Staying the effect of Judge Walker's ruling pending the appeal is the only logical thing to do in this case. This case has a high probability of being overturned on appeal.

Liberal groups push to exploit Target backlash

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Protesters have been rallying outside Target Corp. or its stores almost daily since the retailer angered gay rights supporters and progressives by giving money to help a conservative Republican gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota. Liberal groups are pushing to make an example of the company, hoping its woes will deter other businesses from putting their corporate funds into elections.

A national gay rights group is negotiating with Target officials, demanding that the firm balance the scale by making comparable donations to benefit candidates it favors. Meanwhile, the controversy is threatening to complicate Target's business plans in other urban markets. Several city officials in San Francisco, one of the cities where Target hopes to expand, have begun criticizing the company.

McMahon Lays Smackdown to Win GOP Senate Nomination

Linda McMahon, the former CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment, was the last woman standing Tuesday in a battle royal – this time in the political arena.

McMahon won the GOP primary in Connecticut, crushing money manager
Peter Schiff and former Rep. Rob Simmons, the one-time favorite who suspended his campaign months ago but recently ran an ad reminding voters his name remained on the ballot.

McMahon will face State Attorney General Richard Blumenthal, who was unopposed for the Democrats' Senate nomination, in November to succeed retiring Chris Dodd, also a Democrat.

"Tonight, I am honored to have earned the support of Republicans around Connecticut," McMahon said in her victory speech, adding that she will be a voice of change.

Arpaio: "I am against private prisons"

PHOENIX - Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio says he won't second guess what happened in the escape of three inmates from a medium-security prison in Kingman.

"I don't know all the details. It's sad. I hope they catch these guys."

But Arpaio said he had something to say about private prisons.

The inmates were in a private prison used mostly for DUI convicts. The three were in for attempted murder or murder.

"I don't like private prisons," he told KTAR's The Jay Lawrence Show Sunday night. "All they want to do is treat the guys nice so they can get more people to come in."

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is correct about the private prisons, they are all about the money. They simply pamper the hell out of the prisoners to make it very easy, and desirable. Private prisons need to be shut down for good.

Statement On Prop 8 Ruling

Without exception - regardless of political ideology, judges should never legislate from the bench. Marriage has always been defined as being between one man and one woman. In fact, state after state has voted to uphold the definition of marriage whenever the question has been placed on the ballot - but for some reason activist judges keep trying to redefine it.

Today's ruling tramples on the will of the people and sadly, it seems judicial activists are determined to advance their personal radical agenda. That's why I believe it's time for a federal constitutional amendment that defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman. That is the only action that will truly protect marriage.

Prop 8: Federal judge tosses California voters under bus

A federal judge in California who is reported to be living a homosexual lifestyle today tossed the state's voters under the bus, ruling that they cannot define in their own state constitution that marriage is between one man and one woman only.

The ruling was based on the constitutional provisions for due process and equal protection, and came from Judge Vaughn Walker.

AZ SHERIFF: 'OUR OWN GOVERNMENT HAS BECOME OUR ENEMY'

“What’s very troubling is the fact that at a time when we in law enforcement and our state need help from the federal government, instead of sending help they put up billboard-size signs warning our citizens to stay out of the desert in my county because of dangerous drug and human smuggling and weapons and bandits and all these other things and then, behind that, they drag us into court with the ACLU,” Babeu said.

Virginia Attorney General Rules Police Can Check Immigration Status

In a decision that could lay the groundwork for an Arizona-style immigration policy, Virginia's attorney general said state law enforcement officers are allowed to check the immigration status of anyone "stopped or arrested."

Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli issued the legal opinion Friday extending that authority to Virginia police in response to an inquiry over whether his state could mirror the policies passed into law in Arizona.
