Liberty Counsel Overturns School's Ban on Student's American Flag....

Liberty Counsel intervened and overturned a ban on the American flag of 13-year-old student, Cody Alecia, who was told he could not have it on the back of his bicycle on Veterans' Day. Denair school officials responsible for the original ban rescinded their decision after receiving a letter from Liberty Counsel, warning the school of its constitutional violation and offering to provide the Alecia family with pro bono legal representation.

Cody's father, Robert Kisner, said of school officials, "One day they didn't want to speak to us and then next day they couldn't talk fast enough to apologize. They thought we were going to sue them. I believe this letter from Liberty Counsel made a giant difference. The school staff is very sorry now."

This morning American flags were everywhere. A convoy of motorcyclists filled the street behind Alecia on his way to school. Once at school, students joined Cody in displaying flags and saying the Pledge of Allegiance. The most touching moment for the family was after the crowd was breaking up. One veteran named Adam Brittan slowly approached Cody, his sacrifice to our country physically evident, donning a purple heart on his hat. He was so grateful for Cody's stand that he took his hat off his head and gave it to Cody. The school was also bombarded with demands from soldiers as far away as Afghanistan.

It is a sad day in America when flag burning receives greater protection than flag waving. Cody Alicea should be applauded for his patriotism, and these school officials should be given a remedial class in First Amendment freedoms. The outpouring of patriotism by the community and Americans worldwide gives each one of us hope for America.

Iowa Voters Reject All State Supreme Court Justices Over Same-Sex Marriage

Yesterday Iowa voters supported marriage as between one man and one woman with a historic vote, where all three Supreme Court Justices lost their retention votes. Never before in the history of Iowa had any Supreme Court Justice not been retained. Of seven state Supreme Court Justices who overturned the people's referendum to define marriage, three were up for a retention vote. Supreme Court Chief Justice Marsha Ternus and Associate Justices Michael Streit and David Baker all failed to retain the approval of the people of Iowa. More than 54 percent of voters rejected all three Justices.


Normally justices are retained without controversy, but because these justices legislated from the bench by inventing a so-called right to same-sex marriage, all three lost their jobs. Their decision was a gross overreach of their power, a misinterpretation of the Constitution, and a disregard for hundreds of years of precedent.

When the judges signed the same-sex marriage ruling directly opposing the voters and contrary to the constitutional text, they signed their own resignations. The justices crossed the line when they played the role of a legislator and abandoned judicial restraint. Liberty Counsel's Mathew Staver published an Op Ed in the DesMoines Register, urging the people of Iowa to vote out these three Iowa Justices because of their judicial activism.

Just goes to show that Gods design for marriage is what the people want.

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) — As thousands of people gathered to listen to Usurper Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden energize voters ahead of next month’s election, another man joined the crowd allegedly with his own agenda: streak for a million dollars.

During the “Moving America Forward” rally Sunday afternoon in Philadelphia’s Germantown section, police say Juan James Rodriguez, 24, of Staten Island, New York, was arrested after running near the stage completely naked with the web address battlecam.com written across his chest.

Media cameras and cell phones were recording as Rodriguez was escorted away by officers covering the man’s lower extremities with a rally sign.

NEW YORK -- Republican gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino told Orthodox Jewish leaders on Sunday he doesn't want children "brainwashed into thinking that homosexuality" is acceptable.

Paladino, who has received tea party support, made the comments at a synagogue in Brooklyn's Williamsburg section while trying to strike a contrast between himself and his Democratic rival, state Attorney General Andrew Cuomo. Paladino said he chose not to march in this summer's gay pride parade but his opponent did.

Miss. Judge Again Asks Courtroom to Say Pledge After Jailing Lawyer for Refusing

TUPELO, Miss. – A Mississippi judge again asked everyone in his courtroom to stand and pledge allegiance to the flag, despite an uproar over whether he has the right to make such a request.

The furor began Wednesday when an attorney with a reputation for fighting free speech battles stayed silent as everyone else recited the patriotic oath. The lawyer was jailed.
